McGill Quick Links

Discover McGill’s Primary Sources

Did you know that the McGill Library has an extensive range of primary sources - from historical documents, eye-witness accounts, images, and early printed maps, right up to modern archival papers and digital archives and collections?  Or that many of these primary sources can be accessed both in person and online?  This introductory workshop will provide examples from various fields of study and will give you the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience with these unique resources.  Participants will be guided through a variety of discovery methods and research approaches such as:  how to identify primary sources, how to find them through the McGill Library website, how to access them, and how to consult, interpret, and contextualize them.  Both undergraduate and graduate-level participants are welcome to attend.
